Filipino actor Emilio Garcia graces International Film Festival in Manhattan

Filipino television personality Emilio Garcia graced the International Film Festival 2011awards night in Manhattan, New York last Nov. 18.

Garcia, who was representing his film Sagrada Familia, served as presenter  for the Best Music Video during the awards night.

The GMA Pinoy television talent starred in Sagrada Familia with Lovi Poe, Snooky Serna and Gloria Diaz. While the film did not receive an award, many Filipinos won awards. These include Liberacion, directed by Adolfo Alix Jr as Best Global Narrative and Best Music Video given to Charice’s Louder, directed by  Tim Cruz. Other awardees were Left by the Shio, directed by Emma Rossi Landi as Best Global Documentary, Liza Dino, Achievement  in Acting  for  Compound. Meanwhile, the IFFM Mount Hope Project Award for Social Activism went to two films:Forgotten Soldiers (USA/Philippines) directed by Donald Plata and Walking the Waking Journey (Philippines/ Nepal) directed by Ferdinand Balanag
