The weather can be unpredictable, especially during Spring time. And, that could wreak havoc on our skin, leaving it dry, itchy, and flaky. Our skin is the body’s largest organ and weather, pollutants, and what we put on it can affect its texture and elasticity. Being gentle with our skin and applying beauty care products appropriately can help to maintain it’s youthfulness.

Applying skin care products in a particular order can allow the products to better absorb, nourish, and protect the skin. Here are some steps for a good skin care routine.

1. Cleanse: Cleansing the skin, particularly before bedtime, helps to remove impurities that can dull skin and clog pores leading to unwanted breakouts.
2. Toner: Applying toner after cleansing can help to further hydrate the skin and clear residual dirt and debris.
3. Serum: Serums can be absorbed deeply into the skin to help strengthen, renew, treat and protect the skin.
4. Moisturizer: Create a barrier to retain moisture. Applying a heavier cream can be better for dry skin types.
5. Oil – Facial oils can also be applied to strengthen the skin’s barrier and prevent moisture loss.
6. SPF: Remember to apply a broad spectrum sunscreen when going outdoors. This can help protect against damaging ultraviolet rays that can cause premature aging.
